A double event to support scuba diving for people with disabilities

In Morbegno (SO) and at the beach of Piona (LC), Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21 October, free diving trials and  free training course for professionals

 A new stage in the project 'The Sea, a Smile for All' by HSA Italia, winner of the 2018 OSO Ogni Sport Oltre call for proposals by the Vodafone Foundation

 Appointment on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October with a double event, in the province of Sondrio and Lecco, in underwater and disability theme, an initiative promoted by the sports club Adda Sub by Cosio Valtellino, in collaboration with HSA Italy - Handicapped Scuba Association International.

Saturday 20 October, from 13pm to 17pm (Morbegno municipal swimming pool), A group of twenty instructors and assistants specialized in scuba diving for the disabled will take disabled children and adults from various local associations into the water for a free scuba diving trial.

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21th October, from 9am to 17pm (Town Hall in Cosio Valtellino and Piona Beach), Under the patronage of the Municipality of Cosio Valtellino, a free training course is being held for diving professionals: instructors, assistant instructors, dive guides, and assistants working in the area will learn the techniques for conducting diving activities, including for people with various physical and sensory disabilities. Upon passing the required tests and exams, course participants will earn professional certification. HSA – Handicapped Scuba Association internationally recognized.

“There are so many of us, including instructors and assistants, who provide free diving days for people with disabilities. – comments Francesco di Vita, Course Director HSA Italia, responsible for the event –. The unique training program we offer to diving professionals is also highly appreciated. Thanks to this initiative, promoted free of charge by HSA Italia, following the successful completion of the tender BEAR Every Sport Beyond di Vodafone FoundationAs many as twenty professional divers working in the area will be able to offer quality instruction to people with various disabilities starting Monday. With this event, we want to make a concrete contribution to the practice of sports among disabled people living in the area.

The free trial days and training activities are part of the SUBACQUA ZERO Barriere initiatives, which HSA Italy has been organizing for several years on Italian territory and are included in the project's actions The Sea, a Smile for Everyone by HSA Italy, winner of the 2018 call I DARE Every Sport Beyond di Vodafone Foundation.
