FEDERICO MANA: ANOTHER RECORD!
THE PIEDMONTESE SETS A NEW ITALIAN RECORD
OF CONSTANT WEIGHT FREEDIVING
After a year, the Piedmontese athlete Federico Mana confirms himself as a freediver
deepest in Italy. After last year's still-unbeaten record, Federico
decides to try his hand at the main specialty of freediving: constant weight.
In constant weight, athletes must rely solely on
their strength to descend to depth and cannot use additional ballast or
hoist yourself onto the guide cable both during the descent and the ascent.

Sunday 24 August 2008 during an AIDA Freediving competition in the warm waters
from Sharm el Sheikh Federico wins the specialty competition and establishes a new
Italian record by descending to the abysmal depth of 89 meters.
Mana's dive was performed using a monofin and had
a duration of 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
The athlete's resurfacing, after a few interminable seconds of waiting for the
positive verdict from the judges, and was followed by shouts of joy and applause from
friends and spectators.
Federico's joy, who had been chasing and dreaming of this record for a long time, is evident
visibly and the joy of this moment overwhelms the effort made
in the company.

As always these results are possible thanks to those who support the
athletes in their sporting endeavors.
Federico thanks Free Style Company and Only One Apnea Center for having him
supported with logistics and organization of training and Luca, Davide
and Guido for the assistance during the preparation of the record, without their help
the excellent result would not have been possible.
This result lays a good foundation for the AIDA Team World Championships which
will start on the first of September 2008 during which Federico, sponsored
from the diving center CAMELDIVE and from companies UNCONVENTIONAL training,
IMPERIAL BULLDOG, aims to exceed 90 meters.
