DAN Europe and Azoth Systems partner for dive data collection

DAN Europe and Azoth System have signed a memorandum of understanding focused on data collection in the recreational and professional diving fields.

Microbubbles are undeniably the trigger of decompression sickness (DCS). Over the past decade, the scientific community has established a new perspective on the risks and understanding of these conditions.

In this context, DAN Europe offers extensive expertise and many years of experience, both in field data collection with researchers and volunteer divers, and in decompression risk assessment.

"The O'Dive technology developed by Azoth Systems will allow us to further enhance the effectiveness of our work, leveraging our mutual expertise for a common goal," says Professor Alessandro Marroni, President and Founder of DAN Europe. "The sharing of resources and expertise between DAN Europe and Azoth Systems is in line with our mission to promote diving safety," continues Professor Marroni. "The collaboration agreement is the beginning of a long-term effort, which includes joint study of available databases and their mutual development."

“What characterizes the partnership with DAN is based on shared knowledge but also on complementarity, in addition to the step forward that our technology brings to diver safety,” says Axel Barbaud, CEO and founder of Azoth Systems.

"Thanks to O'Dive, divers can monitor and improve their diving procedures based on bubbles detected in their venous system after diving and personalized simulations calculated from their dive profiles. The collaboration with DAN Europe is also a way to increase the project's visibility and continue this human and technological adventure with a valuable and highly experienced partner."

Reducing the risk of decompression sickness according to current scientific knowledge and accepted diagnostic trends will be an important part of the results made available to the diving community. DAN Europe and AZOTH are committed to making every effort to achieve these goals.

DAN Europe is an international non-profit foundation that, since 1983, has assisted divers in need and conducted scientific research to make diving increasingly safe. DAN Europe's commitment to medical research is extensive and explores various aspects of diving. The results obtained to date by DAN scientists have become a benchmark for the international medical diving community. DAN's research areas focus on diving technology, physiology and hyperbaric medicine, physiopathology, ergonomics, and diving physiology.
