Komodo diving cruise November Naga Biru

Komodo Diving Cruise | November 2026

A cruise in Komodo National Park , one of the best-known marine sites in Indonesia, organized by Mete Subacque with the accompaniment of the specialist Renato La Grassa.

The program takes place between October 31 and November 10, 2026 and combines a dive cruise, trekking on some of the area's most iconic islands, and transfers via Bali.

On board the M/V Naga Biru , a liveaboard built in 2024 and designed for diving and underwater photography, the itinerary covers much of the park with stops at Komodo's best-known sites.

Komodo National Park

Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich marine biodiversity and the dynamic environmental conditions created by currents between the Indian Ocean and the Flores Sea.

The dives take place among pinnacles, walls and reefs exposed to the current, with large schools of tropical fish and the frequent presence of manta rays, reef sharks and sea turtles.

In addition to diving, the itinerary includes some land activities, including scenic treks on Padar and visits to the archipelago's natural areas.

Travel program

  • 31 October: flight from Italy to Bali.
  • November 1: night in a hotel in Bali.
  • November 2: domestic flight to Labuan Bajo, transfer to the port and boarding.
  • November 2–9: Diving cruise in Komodo National Park.
  • November 9Disembarkation, transfer to the airport, and domestic flight to Bali. Departure for Italy.
  • 10 novembrand: arrival in Italy.

Indicative underwater itinerary

The cruise departs Labuan Bajo with an initial check-out dive at Sebayur Kecil , followed by sailing to Kalong Island , where you can observe the flight of flying foxes at sunset. The first few days of the cruise combine diving and land activities: an excursion to Rinca Island , home to Komodo dragons, a scenic sunrise trek on Padar , and dives at sites such as Pengah , Bonsai , Mawan , Pillarsteen , and Three Sisters.

The central part of the trip is dedicated to the park's most famous sites, including Manta Alley , German Flag , Batu Bolong , Manta Point , and Tatawa Kecil , with conditions often influenced by the area's currents. A stop at Pink Beach , one of the archipelago's most recognizable beaches, is also planned .

In the northern part of Komodo, dives are made at sites such as Castle Rock , Crystal Rock , Cauldron , or Golden Passage , followed by a scenic trek to Gili Lawa Darat . The last dive is usually at Tatawa Besar , before sailing back to Labuan Bajo and disembarking.

The itinerary is subject to change based on weather and sea conditions, and safety requirements.

Diving during the cruise

The dive program follows a typical routine for liveaboard diving in the Komodo area.

Typically the following are performed:

  • 2 dives on the first day
  • 3 dives per day on central days
  • any night dives, when the anchorage allows it
  • 2 dives on the last day of operation

The total expected is approximately 19–23 dives.

The last diving day ends early enough to respect the no-fly time of at least 18 hours , in line with DAN guidelines.
