AQUA LUNG dives into a new adventure by supporting the OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL as an Ocean Partner.
Seventy-six years ago, Aqua Lung introduced scuba diving to the world. In 1943, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan developed the "self-contained diving suit," a self-contained diving system with an on-demand regulator, quickly dubbed the "aqua-lung": the first modern self-contained underwater breathing apparatus.
Today, Aqua Lung is the global benchmark for recreational, technical, and military diving equipment. The brand is an international market leader in design, quality, safety, and comfort for diving and water sports equipment.
Thanks to its long history in the underwater industry, Aqua Lung has decided to support the Ocean Film Festival in this third Italian edition, diving into this adventure that will tell the story of exciting adventures at the cinema, with a particular focus on climate change.
It took very little for Aqua Lung, with the enthusiasm and spirit of adventure that has always distinguished it, to find itself on the same wavelength as the Ocean Film Festival, which was born in 2014 in Australia, to promote, through the best films from around the world, themes such as exploration, knowledge, protection and respect for the world's oceans.

The Ocean Film Festival tour will kick off in Milan on Monday, October 14th, with the premiere at the CheBanca! National Theatre, presented by Frank Lotta of Radio Deejay, one of the Festival's Ocean Media Partners. The premiere, which is expected to attract 1.400 people, will feature Aqua Lung Ocean Ambassador Laurent Ballesta. Ballesta is the author of 13 books on underwater photography and the youngest photographer to receive the "Golden Plunger" award at the Antibes International Underwater Image Festival. His film "700 SHARKS," directed by Luc Marescot, was recently nominated for the 2019 International Emmy Awards and will be broadcast worldwide by Nat Geo Wild, an incredible adventure by Gombessa Expeditions.
Rafael Fernandez Caballero, Aqua Lung Ocean Ambassador, will be a guest on the evenings of October 22 (Turin), 23 (Bologna) and 24 (Genoa).
Rafael Fernandez Caballero, 23, is the current world and European champion in underwater photography. He holds courses, conferences, and seminars in Spain and abroad, and one of his main goals is to raise awareness and protect our seas. Keep your eyes peeled when Rafael is a guest at the Ocean Film Festival, as a short clip of his work will be screened.
All we have to do is sit back and enjoy the spectacle of the stories that revolve around the planet water: sailing adventures, surfing in extreme environments, scuba diving, free diving and above all them, the animals that populate the seas and oceans.
