Many recreational and technical divers have adopted the Hogarth/DIR system and use a steel or aluminum plate with a single-strap harness. However, many of these divers have difficulty donning and doffing the plate, especially when the tanks are not supported or at the end of the dive when they need to remove the BCD in the water.
Agir has studied a new system, very simple and functional and after spending the whole summer of 2010 testing this new accessory, the Swedish company has decided to put this simple and innovative system called AGIR HARPA into production.
The system AGIR HARPA It has been tested in numerous recreational and technical dives, not only with AGIR backplates, but also with other steel and aluminum plates from other companies, and it has always worked excellently.
The tests were carried out with various configurations, including single and double 12+12 and 18+18 liter tanks, as well as with a rebreather. The system worked perfectly with every configuration used.
This is a small and simple accessory that will give you the ability to put on and take off the backrest with extreme ease.
The AGIR Harpa system is installed on the left side and allows the sling to slide inside the stainless steel ring called Harpa.
Before putting on the backplate, simply loosen the strap, which will automatically stop when the Dring on the left side touches the Harpa ring. Once put on, simply tighten the strap and the backplate will fit perfectly.
At the end of the dive, simply loosen the strap and remove your arm. It was decided to install the Harpa system on the left side because that's where the diver's drysuit valve is located, which often gets stuck in the strap.
This simple stainless steel accessory will make all the difference.
